The country’s design community, in one room.
UX Pakistan is the country’s largest nonprofit design and user experience conference. It began in 2017 as a student-led initiative at LUMS, founded by INDEX, the university’s design society, and has grown into a national platform connecting academia, industry and emerging talent.
Every edition puts practitioners, researchers, students and business leaders in the same conversation. It now runs under Design for Pakistan, a nonprofit initiative applying design to public services, education, healthcare and sustainable development.

Design refined itself.
Then the ground moved
Design has spent decades refining itself as a discipline: methods, standards, research practice, a shared language for the work. That refinement is real and it is what the field stands on. But refining assumes the conditions hold, and they no longer do. Artificial intelligence is rewriting the process itself. Climate change is forcing a reckoning with what design puts into the world. Redefining is what comes after refining, and it is no longer optional.
Decades of work turned design into a discipline with methods, standards and a research base. That is the ground the field stands on.
Taking a refined discipline to its next stage, because what it was refined for has changed. New tools, new constraints, new questions about what design is for.
Still the same job. Understand people, make the right thing, make it well. The tenth edition is two days of arguing about how.
